Green energy supplier SSE Airtricity has become the latest energy company to come out with a novel sign-up incentive for new customers!

To celebrate the launch of its new eStore, SSE Airtricity has launched two brand new energy tariffs which will see new customers who sign up receive an eStore credit of up to €320!

In this blog we’ll tell you all you need to know about the new energy tariffs and how to get your hands on the eStore credit, and most importantly, how to sign up.

But first, let’s have a quick look at SSE Airtricity’s new online store and what’s available!

SSE Airtricity eStore

SSE Airtricity’s new online store offers customers a wide variety of the latest tech and home essentials for delivery straight to your door.

Among the gizmos and gadgets available to purchase include TVs, SIM-free smartphones, audio speakers, computers and tablets, not to mention the latest smart home devices and wearables.

As part of the launch of its eStore, SSE has also exclusively partnered with tech giant Samsung to offer customers a range of energy-efficient home appliances, including washing machines, tumble dryers, and refrigerators.

eStore Credit

To tie in with the launch of its new eStore, SSE Airtricity has also announced a very different energy offering which will see customers receive a discount off their energy bills, as well as eStore credit.

Customers can now sign up to one of SSE’s newly launched electricity or dual fuel tariffs and receive an eStore gift card in return - and for no small amount!

If you sign up to SSE’s new 1 Year eStore Electricity plan you’ll receive an eStore credit of €200 to spend on the goods of your choice.

Likewise, if you sign up to its 1 Year eStore Dual Fuel plan you’ll be on the receiving end of €320 in eStore credit.

To avail of the new eStore credit incentive customers must of course sign up to one of the above deals.

Customers will also be glad to know that they won’t have to use their credit all at once. Half can be used for one particular purchase, for example, and the rest can be used at a later date. Once you’ve redeemed the offer, your credit will be available to spend within the eStore and is valid for one year from the date of redemption.

When you sign up with SSE you’ll receive instructions on how to redeem the offer within 30 days. However, customers must have finished their 14-day cooling off period before being able to use their eStore credit.

So, what are the energy plans I hear you say? Let’s take a closer look!

1 Year eStore Electricity

Customers interested in signing up for SSE Airtricity’s new electricity plan will receive a 10% discount off its standard unit rate.

As well as this discount, you’ll also receive €200 worth of credit to spend on whatever you like on its newly launched eStore.

SSE Airtricity is one of the foremost suppliers of green electricity in Ireland too, so if you sign up to this energy deal you know your electricity was generated from 100% renewables.

The level of discount you receive off your energy will depend however on your preferred payment method and billing type, with those paying by Direct Debit and receiving an eBill receiving the full 10%.

While paying by Direct Debit and eBilling is pretty much standard these days, it’s worth noting that you will receive far less of a discount if you choose not to pay by DD and your bill to be posted for example.

This plan comes on a 12 month contract from SSE and customers should also know that a €100 termination fee applies should you decide to leave before 12 months are up.

It should also be noted that SSE Airtricity is due to implement a price increase from September 1st, so customers should take this into account before putting pen to paper, as they say.

However, on bonkers.ie we factor these price changes into our calculations in real time so you know just how much you’ll be saving before you switch!

1 Year eStore Dual Fuel

Those looking to sign up to a Dual Fuel deal can also take advantage of SSE’s new plans with a 10% discount off both its standard unit gas and electricity rates.

Dual fuel customers signing up to this deal will also get their hands on a fairly sizeable eStore gift card, worth €320 no less!

Similar to its electricity-only eStore tariff, the 10% discount available with this dual fuel offer may be less depending on how you pay, as can be seen in the table below. That being said, Direct Debit and eBilling is pretty much standard nowadays.

This plan also comes on a 12 month contract, however, an early exit fee of €100 per fuel applies should you break your contract. So customers will have to pay €200 altogether should they leave before the first year.

SSE Airtricity is the first to market with an offer such as this for energy retailers in the Republic - an exciting step in rewarding customers more for choosing 100% green energy!
