Pockets feeling a little lighter after Black Friday and Cyber Monday? Or maybe you’re one of the supporters of #GreenFriday, a new counter movement to Black Friday, encouraging consumers to take a step back from spending and enjoy a walk out and about in nature.

Whatever you’ve been up to, here’s your November bulletin; a quick monthly round-up of the latest news and savings tips from the worlds of energy, personal finance and more that you might have missed out on!

Let’s get to it!

Unfortunately, November brought yet more bad news for energy customers during the cold winter season.

In the last few months, we’ve seen Flogas, Pinergy and Panda Power hike their prices for a second time in 2018, and this month saw SSE Airtricity and Energia follow suit.

SSE Airtricity will increase its electricity prices by 6.3% and its gas prices by 6.9% from December 3rd, while Energia is holding off introducing its increases until January 1st, when it will raise electricity prices by 5.5% and gas prices by 6.3%.

On the other hand, Ireland’s largest energy supplier, Electric Ireland, has pledged to freeze electricity and gas prices this winter, to “protect customers from the impact of rising energy costs for the heavy energy usage winter months.” Glass half full?

With imminent price increases, now is the perfect time to switch suppliers if you haven’t done so within the last year. It’s still the quickest and easiest way to make an average saving of close to €300.

Given that we’re less than a month away from Christmas now, we thought now would be a great time to shine a spotlight on budgeting and money-saving tips!

That's it for this month!
