The Broadband, Phone & TV summer price war is heating up with Sky coming in as the third provider this week to announce new deals including 20% off TV, a new €59 Tripleplay deal as well as a 6-month discount across Cinema and Sports packages.

Let’s take a closer look at the details:

20% off TV for 12 Months:

If you’re not currently a Sky customer and you’re looking for a new TV package you could be in luck. Sky is offering new customers a 12-month 20% discount off their TV only packages.

For example, for Sky’s Variety TV Bundle which includes 90 TV channels you’ll pay €31.20 for your first 12 months and €39 per month thereafter. That’s a total saving of €93.60 in your first year.

Sound good but what if you’re looking for something a little more premium? No problem, Sky has something for you too:

6-month discount across Sky Sport and Sky Cinema bundles:

New and existing Sky customers can now add Sky Sports for €25 a month for 6 months, Sky Cinema for €20 a month for 6 months or both for €28 a month for 6 months.

With Sky it's worth noting that you can only get a discount on one product feature at a time.

So for example, if you take the Variety TV Bundle mentioned above; with the addition of Sky Sports and Sky Cinema you’ll pay €67 per month for the first 6 months and €88 per month thereafter. That’s a total saving of €126 in your first year.

€59 Tripleplay Deal:

The most competitive of Sky’s new deals has got to be its new €59 tripleplay deal, the details of which are as follows:

The deal includes Sky’s Original TV Bundle which includes 50 TV channels, 100Mb unlimited broadband as well as free evening and weekend calls to Irish landlines. For the first 12 months you’ll pay €59 per month and €84.50 thereafter. That’s a total saving of €306 in your first year. Not too shabby!

Nothing tickling your fancy? Why not check out Sky’s new NOW TV?

Late last month Sky introduced NOW TV to the Irish market. It’s an online streaming service similar to the likes of Netflix that offers on-demand TV boxsets, access to Sky Sports and Sky Cinema as well as 10 live TV channels.
