eir Sport has added popular boxing channel, BoxNation, to the eir Sport pack.

eir has taken another step in its quest to be the dominant broadband and TV provider for Ireland’s sports fans by adding BoxNation to the eir Sport pack.

BoxNation becomes the seventh channel available on the pack, joining eir Sport 1, eir Sport 2, BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2, BT Sport Europe and BT Sport ESPN.

eir Sport is currently available for free to eir broadband customers and just last month, the provider made Sky Sports available for €1 a month for 6 months to new customers.

What is BoxNation?

BoxNation is a 24-hour sports channel dedicated solely to boxing, which was previously only available as a standalone subscription.

Some customers in Ireland are currently paying €15 a month for the channel, which adds up to €180 over the course of a year.

How can eir Sport subscribers actually watch BoxNation?

Whether you're an eir TV customer or a Sky TV customer, as long as you have eir Sport, you can get BoxNation for no additional cost.

The channel is automatically available now on your set top box and via the eir Sport app.

How do I get eir Sport?

eir Sport is available for free to eir broadband customers.

If you’re already an eir broadband customer and don’t have eir Sport, just give them a call and they’ll help you get set up.

If you aren’t an eir broadband customer, but would like to switch and get eir Sport for free, you can do so now by visiting the eir Broadband page on bonkers.ie.

If you're a Sky TV customer, you can get eir Sport for an average monthly cost of €18.75. Note that you’ll need your Sky viewing card number to sign up.

Vodafone TV customers can get eir Sport for €20 a month, but new customers can get it for free for six months.

eir Sport is not available to Virgin Media customers.

What's coming up on eir Sport?

eir Sport was the only place to see Ireland beat New Zealand and Conor McGregor defeat Eddie Alvarez late last year. And there are some other key sporting fixtures coming up over the next few months for sports fans to get excited about.

Thanks to the addition of BoxNation, eir Sport customers will be able to watch Paddy Barnes and Jamie Conlan in action on March 10th, as well as Canelo Alvarez v Julio Chaves Jr on May 6th. And football fans will be able to watch Man United v Everton, Chelsea v Man City and Chelsea v Man United (FA Cup) live on eir Sport over the coming weeks.

At the launch of BoxNation, Glen Killane, MD of eir TV and Sport, emphasised the provider's determination to bring a wealth of sporting options to customers; “this announcement further demonstrates eir Sport’s commitment to increasing the breadth of live sports on our pack strengthening our position as Ireland’s number one sports broadcaster".
