The so-called "best years of your life" are just around to corner and very soon you'll know what course and college awaits.

One thing that you probably aren't thinking about right now is which bank to open an account with. It isn't the most exciting topic, but it'll be one of the first things you do during Freshers' Week.

Every year, the banks descend upon college campuses to dangle sign-up incentives in front of new students in a bid to win their long-term loyalty.

KBC has been quick out of the blocks this year with the announcement that it is offering €100 cold hard cash to students who open an account.

With KBC, you'll get fee-free contactless payments, debit card transactions, ATM withdrawals and cashback, and there are no maintenance fees either.

You'll also get access to Android Pay and Apple Pay, which are handy new apps growing in popularity, In fact, KBC customers made 78,000 transactions with Android Pay and Apple Pay in the first six months of the year.
