Lower energy costs on way

ENERGY costs could be cut for consumers as wholesale costs have collapsed. Flogas has led the way offering a reduction of 2.5% from next month. Its move has inspired calls to all energy companies to cut costs, as wholesale gas prices are down 23%, according to Simon Moynihan of price comparison site Bonkers.ie. He said that switching provider is the best way to ensure savings. Energia is offering up to a 26% reduction for electricity, gas or both fuels for customers who switch to its service. Electric Ireland has cut its gas price by 2.5% and its electricity prices fell last November, and Airtricity is to reduce electricity prices from next week.
