Terminal Illness Benefit
If you are diagnosed with a terminal illness and have less than 12 months to live, Royal London will pay the full amount of Life Cover as of the date of diagnosis.
A terminal illness is an illness where, in the opinion of the attending Consultant and Royal London's Chief Medical Officer, you will not survive the next 12 months.
Childrens Life Cover
If a child of yours dies during the term of your policy, a sum of €5,000 will be paid out.
All of your children between the ages of 3 months and 18 (21 if he/she is in full-time education) are covered during the term of the policy.
Helping Hand Benefit
Helping Hand Benefit gives you one-to-one personal support from your own Nurse Adviser from Red Arc, in order to help you and your family manage the effects that illness or bereavement can have. (In this context, ‘family’ means the spouse or partner of the Royal London Life assured and his/her children).
With over 15 years experience, Red Arc has a reputation for excellent service and can help with the provision of bereavement counsellors, speech and language therapists, face-to-face second medical opinion and more.
Free Dual Life Cover
When two people are to be insured on the policy, your cover can be written on a joint life basis or a dual life basis. Joint Life Mortgage Protection covers both people on the mortgage and if one of them were to die during the term of the policy, the claim would be paid to the lender and the policy would cease. There is a potential for one pay-out only. Dual Life cover will provide cover for both people on the mortgage, but with a potential for two pay-outs. Both lives are covered independently. If one person was to die and a claim be paid to the bank, the insurance company would continue to provide Life Cover (on a decreasing basis) for the second person. Royal London offer this benefit at no extra cost.
Dual Life cover is only available on Mortgage Protection policies with life cover only. Dual life cover is not available on mortgage protection policies with serious illness included.
