It’s a balmy 15 degrees in Dublin today. And it’s mid-November! Despite the unseasonably warm weather, it’s going to feel very Christmassy very soon.
The Henry Street Christmas tree lights will be turned on later this evening, selection boxes have been appearing on supermarket shelves for weeks and pretty soon we’ll be hearing “Fairytale of New York” everywhere we go.
The folks at eir are getting into the spirit of the season nice and early this year too, and have just announced a range of Christmas offers for new and existing customers. And they’re pretty generous!
Discounted Tripleplay Package
New customers who sign up online for eir Vision TV Essential with broadband and home phone will pay €25 a month for the first 6 months and €77 a month afterwards. That amounts to a discount of €52 a month for 6 months, or €312 in total.
So, what do you actually get for your cash?
Broadband: eir offers superfast broadband speeds of up to 100 Mbps, with unlimited data. Very important for busy households that love a good Netflix binge!
TV: you’ll get 55 digital TV channels as part of the package, which can be paused, rewound and recorded while watching live.
Home phone: unlimited anytime calls to Irish landlines and mobiles come with the package too.
The contract is 18 months long, meaning you’ll pay about €1,074 over the duration for broadband, TV and home phone.
85 TV Channels
If 55 channels just isn’t enough, you could alternatively sign up for eir Vision TV Experience with broadband and phone and get an even more epic TV package.
With this package, you’ll get unlimited superfast broadband, unlimited anytime calls to Irish mobiles and landlines from your home phone as well as 85 TV channels.
It’ll cost you €33 a month for 6 months and €85 a month from then on.
Half-Price Sky Movies and Sky Sports
To sweeten the deal this Christmas, eir is also offering half-price Sky Movies and Sky Sports for a year to new TV customers.
If you're the type of person that starts counting down to Christmas from mid-July, you'll probably love the thought of watching Christmas classics like ‘Elf’, ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ on Sky Movies over the coming weeks.
New eir customers and existing eir broadband customers who sign up for a TV package can get Sky Movies for €12 a month, Sky Sports for €19.50 a month or both for €24.50 a month.
If you’re already an eir TV customer, you can also get these discounts if you haven’t availed of a Sky Movies or Sky Sports promotion in the past 12 months.
Christmas Has Come Early
This time of year usually sees some attractive offers from telecommunications providers, as they try to sign up new customers in time for Christmas.
Eir has moved first this year, and the offer will take some beating.
The idea of getting superfast broadband, digital TV and home phone for about €1,074 over a year and a half is very competitive. And the thought of half-price Sky Movies and Sky Sports will be very appealing to film and footy fans alike in the run up to Christmas.
