The discounts will be available for a limited time only with the offers finishing on 24th March.
If you’re looking to switch telecommunications provider then now is most certainly the time to do it as Eir has announced some great deals across a range of its broadband, phone and TV packages.
In terms of cost, the discounts now make Eir the market leader in Ireland for broadband-only, and broadband, phone and TV.
You can check out what all the fuss is about with the full story below.
The offers announced are available for a limited time only and will see new customers able to sign up to Eir’s broadband for only €29.99 a month for the first 12 months, reverting to €59.99 thereafter.
The broadband package includes fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) speeds of up to 100Mbps as well as a free Amazon Prime Video subscription for the duration of the contract - €5.99 per month thereafter. What's more you'll also get Eir Sport as well as Virgin Media Sport included as standard.
In addition to this the offer includes FREE activation, usually €49.99*.
Those who avail of the offer can choose to add Eir TV for only an additional €9.99 a month for 12 months, then €19.99 when the contract ends. Eir recently teamed up with Apple to incorporate its TV service into Apple TV, which you can read more about here.
For those looking to make their package complete with mobile you can also add a SIM-only plan for €9.99 a month for 12 months, and €19.99 thereafter.
Eir’s “Broadband For Life Offer” of €49.99 a month will remain in place during the promotion.
*Free activation for online and affiliates only.
Coming in at a total price of €359.88 for the year, with discounts of €360 included, Eir’s broadband-only deal is currently the cheapest bar none.
And with the ability to add Eir TV or SIM-only mobile for only €9.99 a month each, this makes things a whole lot more interesting.
Customers can avail of Eir's tripleplay package for only €39.98 per month for the first six months or €479.76 for the first year. As well as superfast broadband, this deal also boasts unlimited off-peak calls to Irish landlines, 71 TV channels, the Eir Sport pack, an Amazon Prime Video subscription for free for 12 months, as well as HD at no extra charge. This package undercuts the second cheapest tripleplay option on the market by a rather significant €140 for the first year!
The Eir Sport pack now also includes Virgin Media Sport and comes with live coverage of the Rugby World Cup, the World Rugby Under 20 Championship, Copa America, the SSE Airtricity League, GAA Allianz Leagues, Wimbledon and the FA Cup to name a few!
While the broadband speed of up to 100Mbps on offer from Eir is pretty much the standard speed nowadays, it's worth remembering that the product advertised is only part-fibre broadband, or FTTC, and not fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), meaning the speed you get could be less.
Customers would also do well to bear in mind that the plan is a 12-month contract and will revert to original pricing after this period, so keeping an eye on when the contract expires is always important when signing up for a discounted offer.
Also worth noting before signing up is the rather beleaguered Eir customer service which has received much criticism in the past for being sub-standard. However, Eir's strategy in deciding to bring its customer support in-house should have a big role to play in significantly improving customer experiences down the line.
