
The latest retail interest rate figures from the Central Bank of Ireland show that mortgage holders here continue to pay much higher rates than those in most other European countries.
Despite increased competition of late from new entrants into the market, namely Avant Money, Ireland remains the second highest for mortgage interest rates in the Eurozone.
