All notices of withdrawal must be given in writing at the branch where you opened your account.

About the account

  • Minimum age of the account holder is 18 years.
  • Maximum balance is €5,000.
  • Maximum balance is €1,000,000.
  • Interest payments are subject to Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT) at the prevailing rate.
  • No transaction fees are applied by Bank of Ireland for lodgements to or withdrawals from the Account. Bank of Ireland may, at their discretion and without prior consultation with you, apply transaction fees to the Account in the future. This shall only be done subject to approval by the relevant regulatory authority and reasonable notice to you.
  • No fees or charges are levied.
  • If your Account balance falls below €5,000, your Account may be converted to the Variable Rate Call Account - which is a standard Demand Deposit Account. The funds will then receive the prevailing rate for that Account.
