Terminal Illness Benefit
If you are diagnosed with a terminal illness and have less than 12 months to live, Royal London will pay the full amount of Life Cover as of the date of diagnosis.
A terminal illness is an illness where, in the opinion of the attending Consultant and Royal London's Chief Medical Officer, you will not survive the next 12 months.
Childrens Life Cover
If a child of yours dies during the term of your policy, a sum of €5,000 will be paid out.
All of your children between the ages of 3 months and 18 (21 if he/she is in full-time education) are covered during the term of the policy.
Childrens Specified Serious Illness - Where Specified Serious Illness Cover is included as part of your policy, this benefit provides cover for your children for the same specifed serious illnesses (other than Loss of Independent Existence). The Children's cover 50% of sum assured up to a max of €25,000 for children from the age of 1 up to age 18 or 21 if in full time education. In addition, your children are also covered for one partial payment of 50% of your Specifed Serious Illness Cover up to a maximum of €7,500.
Convertible
This option allows you to convert your cover to another policy without having to provide new evidence of health. You can use this option at any point over the course of your policy, up until the age of 70.
(If you are on a Joint or Dual policy, you can use this option up until the oldest person on the policy turns 70).
Serious Illness
If you are diagnosed with one of 51 specified serious illnesses during the term of your policy, a lump sum will be paid out. You will also be covered under Partial Payment Specified Serious Illness Cover for an additional 22 specified illnesses.
Serious illness claims can be paid on an accelerated basis (meaning that your total amount of life cover will be reduced by the value of your serious illness claim) or a stand alone basis (where your life cover us unaffected by your claim).
In accelerated serious illness, if the level of cover and illness amounts are the same and an accelerated illness claim is made then the policy ends after pay-out

(In this context, ‘family’ means the spouse or partner of the Royal London Life assured and his/her children).
With over 15 years experience, Red Arc has a reputation for excellent service and can help with the provision of bereavement counsellors, speech and language therapists, face-to-face second medical opinion and more.
