Urban Electricity Region

  • 12.70 cent (24 hour rate)
  • 13.65 cent (NightSaver day rate)

Rural Electricity Region

Night Storage Heaters (NSH)

These charges only apply if you have a separate Night Storage Heater meter

Payment Method

Direct Debit with Level Pay

You must sign up to the Bord Gais Energy Level Pay facility which will let you spread your payments evenly over the course of the year. Your payment will be based on your annual consumption and may include an additional amount to cover unexpected high consumption. Credit on your account may be refundable after annual reconciliation. Direct debit customers frequently benefit from higher savings.

Security Deposit

Some customers may have to provide a security deposit depending on their tenancy status and credit history:

  • Tenant signing up for the first time and paying by direct debit, a deposit of €200 is required.
  • Tenant signing up for the 1st time but not paying by direct debit a deposit of €300 is required.
  • Tenant signing up for another product but has been with Bord Gáis Energy for longer than 14 months, with good credit history, no deposit is required.
  • Homeowner signing up and paying by direct debit, no deposit is required.
  • Level Pay payment method then no deposit is required but direct debit is mandatory
