It was a very exciting week at bonkers.ie. Our managing director David Kerr made an appearance on the very first episode of RTE’s new afternoon show “Four Live”.

The show, which goes out live every day, is hosted by the fantastic Maura Derrane. It’s a lifestyle show delivering tips, stories and advice on all sorts of topics including food, style, health and value for money. And it’s the value for money bit that bonkers.ie was invited to talk about.

We were all very excited for David as he left the office in his “not too formal – not too casual” outfit and headed to Donnybrook for makeup, rehearsal and the big event (yes they do have a green room in RTE apparently!).

As four o’clock approached, the bonkerites huddled around computers and waited for the show to start. The RTE Player worked a treat for live TV – do you need to pay a license fee? (don’t answer that RTE!). There was chat, Conrad Gallagher cooked scallops and then it was David’s turn…

No, the set didn’t cave in. The props all worked and David did his bit as though it was no big thing. He talked about how can get an extra tax credit, save money on banking, put your kids in pre-school for free, and even claim tax back on your bins. They must have thought he did a decent job because he’ll be on again next week.

And of course if you missed him this week, there’s always next Monday! 4pm RTE 1.

I’ll add his money saving tips here in the coming days and if I can get a picture David on the show I’ll post that too.
