For those looking to save big on their energy bills this winter, SSE Airtricity is offering two exclusive plans which will potentially see new gas and electricity customers save big.
And what's more, SSE provides 100% green electricity, produced solely from renewable sources of energy across the island of Ireland.
The plans available are exclusive to bonkers.ie and include discounts of up to 30% off Airtricity’s standard electricity rate, but more on that below!

SSE Airtricity prides itself on being the largest generator and provider of renewable energy in Ireland, providing 100% green electricity to homes across the country as well as natural gas.

What plans are available?
SSE is offering new customers a new one-year Home Dual Fuel plan with a 28% electricity discount and a 23% gas discount.
Consumers who want to save big and who are willing to make the leap will pay a discounted yearly bill of €861.60 for their electricity and €715.80 for their gas. This is an estimated annual dual-fuel bill of just €1,577.40 (based on the average annual consumption of 4,200 kWh of electricity and 11,000 kWh of gas as defined by the CRU).
Also on offer is an electricity plan for new customers offering 30% off electricity for the first 12 months.
This discounted plan will see the average new customer pay just €843.96 annually for their electricity, compared to over €1,200 if you were paying standard rates.
Both plans have a 12-month contract, provide online account access along with direct debit billing, which you must choose to get this offer. Paperless billing is also obligatory and goes hand-in-hand with the company’s mantra of renewability.

Any caveats?
Although both plans have considerable savings they are strictly available to new customers only and not existing SSE Airtricity customers.
Should you want to switch mid plan there is a €100 early exit fee for the dual fuel plan and a €50 fee for the electricity plan.
An additional cost to keep in mind is that homeowners or tenants who aren't paying by direct debit will be required to pay a €300 security deposit, refunded in full if you switch to direct debit or when your account is closed and balance paid in full.
