http://www.finance.gov.ie/viewdoc.asp?DocID=6704

Anglo Irish Bank was nationalised on 21 January 2009 following the signing into law of the Anglo Irish Bank Corporation Act 2009. This decision was taken by the Government after consultation with the new Board of the Bank, the Department of Finance, the Central Bank and the Financial Regulator. The role of the Board and management team will be to continue to manage the Bank on an independent and commercial basis.

The Bank continues to provide business lending, treasury, personal savings and private banking services to our broad range of customers across all our locations. Anglo Irish Bank prides itself on delivering excellent service to all its customers and remains committed to quality customer service.
