Dual Standalone Serious Illness

  • A lump sum will be paid out if you are diagnosed with one of the specified illnesses covered under your policy - you will have full cover against 40 specified serious illnesses and partial cover against a further 40 specified illnesses
  • Partial payment is up to €15,000 or 50% of your specified serious illness cover as of the date of diagnosis, whichever is lower
  • Your policy is suitable for family protection and business protection

Serious Illness

If you are diagnosed with one of 50 specified serious illnesses during the term of your policy, a lump sum will be paid out. You will also be covered under Partial Payment Specified Serious Illness Cover for an additional 21 specified illnesses.

Serious illness claims can be paid on an accelerated basis (meaning that your total amount of life cover will be reduced by the value of your serious illness claim) or a stand alone basis (where your life cover us unaffected by your claim).

Guaranteed Insurability Option

This option allows you to get 20% additional cover every three years, without providing medical evidence. This option is sent out five times, from the third anniversary to the fifteenth anniversary of your policy’s start date and allows you to double your cover over the lifetime of your policy.

If the increase is declined more than once when offered, it will not be offered again

Quotation is valid for 7 days or until age next quarter (whichever is sooner). This quotation assumes that you are accepted by the insurance company at standard rates. Friends First Non Smoker rates assume that you have not smoked or used any tobacco related products or nicotine replacement in the last 12 months. All premiums quoted include the 1% government levy. The minimum premium with Friends First is 10.00 per month or €100 per annum
